claude@clouddev1	6b4c4dcea4	feat(types)!: drop the blob column type (ADR-0005 Amendment 2) ... blob was a dead-end: declarable but never fillable (no literal in either mode, seed-unsupported), so a blob column could only ever hold NULL. Remove Type::Blob + Value/CellValue::Blob + the base64 CSV path + the grammar slot + completion/render/type-change/seed handling + the binder refusal (whose message also carried a user-facing "DSL" copy-rule bug). The vocabulary is now nine types; base64 stays (clipboard OSC-52). Backward compat is the ADR-0015 migration framework's first real use: a v1->v2 format bump (CURRENT_SCHEMA_VERSION across serializer/parser/skeleton) with a migrator that rewrites `type: blob` -> `type: text`, and a forced .db rebuild from the migrated text when a blob column was actually converted (the stale .db keeps a STRICT BLOB engine column). Conversion to text is non-destructive and CSV-free. Covered by a full-stack integration test and a Tier-4 PTY test that opens a real legacy v1-blob project. Also sweeps the nine-type vocabulary through CLAUDE.md, requirements.md, the website (type reference, seed doc, highlight grammar), and the ADR-0030/0033/ 0035 cross-references; CHANGELOG Removed entry; handoff-79. BREAKING CHANGE: the `blob` column type is removed. Existing projects that declared a blob column are migrated on first open (the column becomes text; the original project.yaml is kept as a .v1.bak).	2026-06-22 21:25:38 +00:00

Realises ADR-0030 §10 (the DSL→SQL teaching bridge) as a /runda'd design set, before implementation: - ADR-0037 (new): execution-time mode side-channel — SubmissionMode {Simple, Advanced, AdvancedOneShot} threaded Action→worker, output-only; redeems ADR-0033 Amendment 3's deferred follow-up. Replay stays silent. - ADR-0038 (new): the teaching echo + full catalogue (Buckets A/B/C), the copy-paste round-trip contract, the three-category framework, and the Value→SQL-literal renderer. DDL + show-data centric (overlapping DML is SQL-first, so already SQL). Build-order deps recorded. - ADR-0035 Amendment 2: standard-first dialect stance + ALTER COLUMN SET/DROP NOT NULL, SET/DROP DEFAULT, ISO SET DATA TYPE gap-fill. - ADR-0033 Amendment 4: reclassifies the `update … --all-rows` non-fall-back as a bug; it now falls back to the DSL Update and echoes (keyed on adjacent `--`; spaced arithmetic preserved). - ADR-0039 (new): EXPLAIN over advanced SQL — decision recorded, build deferred; supersedes ADR-0030 §13 OOS-2. - ADR-0000: out-of-scope discipline (deferred vs rejected). Narrow ADR-0036 from "bind literals via the DSL path" to "validate literal values (shared validators) + retain them; execute verbatim, keep auto-fill and command identity mode-specific" — after a concrete auto-fill difference (non-PK serial) confirmed the modes aren't identical even for single-row literals. Augments (no longer supersedes) ADR-0030 §4 / ADR-0033 §10; Amendment 3 stands. README + forward-notes on 0030/0033 updated. Records the decision that advanced-mode SQL DML should stop handing literal data values to the engine as text and instead parse/validate/bind them through the DSL's proven path — closing the value-validation gap, the hint/highlight gap, and the offending-value-in-errors gap together. Verbatim text stays for expressions, WHERE, INSERT…SELECT, and SELECT (full SQL surface preserved; ADR-0026's limited Expr not imposed). Narrows ADR-0030 §4 / ADR-0033 §10 once accepted; SELECT half of §4 stands. Includes a characterization test (tests/sql_insert.rs) proving the bind-layer gap: the DSL rejects the malformed date 2025/01/15, advanced-mode SQL accepts it. Forward-notes added to ADR-0030/0033; README index updated. Status: Proposed (design + /runda done; pending go-ahead to implement).	2026-05-26 20:49:40 +00:00

Decides the architecture for SQL in advanced mode (Q1/Q2/Q4): SQL is authored as grammar within the unified grammar tree (ADR-0024) and parsed by the existing walker — not a separate batch parser — so SQL gets the same completion, highlighting, hints, and parse-error reporting as the DSL. Mode gates the SQL forms. DDL routes through the typed Command executor (metadata and the playground type vocabulary preserved); DML and SELECT execute as validated SQL. Engine-neutral posture; DSL→SQL teaching echo; phased plan. Supersedes ADR-0001's sqlparser-rs reservation.
